Our Staff
At Slade's Funeral Homes we are pleased to have a professional, caring and understanding team to offer a strong support system to the families we serve. We pride ourselves on our personal manner treating each family as if they were our own.
Edward (Ned) and Elizabeth Slade had a personal vision when they established there first funeral home in 1993 in Carbonear. In 2006 that vision continued when they established another Funeral Home in Bay Roberts. We believe that families deserve Funeral Service choices that respected their values and honor the people they cherish.
These are instrumental in establishing the high standards of services their clients have come to know and expect at Slade's Funeral Homes and we continue to provide unique ideas to better serve the families that entrust such dignified services with us. The Slade's take great pride in providing professional service to their communities they serve and recognize the loyalty the communities offer in return.
Ned and Elizabeth reside in Carbonear and have 4 children: Kenneth (Kim), Keith (Terri), Krista and Katie. Both Elizabeth and Ned believe in being full participants in their community. Over the years they have been members of the Lions Club, various Church Groups as well as board members. Ned was a Scout Leader for 25 years, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Town Councilor for 12 years and Ned is presently the Deputy Mayor of Carbonear. Both Ned and Elizabeth are Licensed Funeral Directors.
Krista Slade has been involved in the family business ever since its establishment. Krista's interest in the business is evident through her involvement. To accompany her skills and knowledge Krista successfully completed the Office Administration Program through College of the North Atlantic. Krista enjoys the funeral industry and looks forward to taking part in the services her family provides. Krista is a licensed Funeral Director and resides in Carbonear.
Katie Slade has been working part-time at Slade’s Funeral Home for the past several years. She is presently a full time student at Memorial University. When she completes her education she hopes to pursue a career in the family business.
