Mr. Augustus Menchions of Spaniard’s Bay passed peacefully away at his private residence on Monday, November 21, 2016. Mr. Menchions was 101 years old. He leaves to mourn his loving family: 2 Daughters: Olive (William) Strickland & Allison (Wilfred) Snow; 8 precious Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Glen), Delores, Geoffrey (Sherri Lynn), Michelle (Scott), Nathan, Yvette (Brad), Corey & Jeremy; 10 precious Great Grandchildren: Matthew (Katherine), Tiffany (Maxwell), Jordan, April (Brady), Jessica, Brady, Nicholas, Katie, Aidan & Samantha; 1 Brother: Albert (Enid) Menchions; 2 Sisters: Pearl Drover & Emmie Taylor and a large circle of family & friends. Predeceased By: Wife: Mary Grace; Parents: Thomas & Naomi Menchions; Brothers: Herbert, Wilfred, & Jack; Sister: Barbara Jean; Brothers-in-Law: Gordon French, John Drover & Harold Taylor and Sisters-in-Law: Elizabeth Ash, Evelyn Menchions & Myra Menchions.

Service Information:

The Funeral Service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, November 24, 2016 from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church & Cemetery, Bay Roberts.

Visitation Times:

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, L.T. STICK DRIVE, BAY ROBERTS, on Tuesday: 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M., Wednesday: 10:30 A.M. – 12 Noon, 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. and Thursday 10:30 A.M. – 12 Noon.


As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church Restoration Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
