Les Mitchell

Mr. Wallace E. Somerton of Shearstown passed suddenly away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.  Mr. Somerton was 72 years old.  


He leaves to mourn his loving family:

Sons: Paul (Ada), Wallace Jr. (Amanda Lahey) & Darrell (Hope)

Grandchildren:  Melissa, PJ, Nicole, Jennifer, Joshua, Samantha, Dylan & Hayley

Great Grandchildren: Skyler, Nicholas, Noah, Lily & Ally

Brother: Reuben Somerton

Sisters: Margaret Sparkes, Eleanor (Clarence) Andrews, Sheila (Philip) Thoms & Norma (Brian) Gough

Brothers-in-Law: Bob (Evelyn) Mercer, Fraser (Annie) Mercer, Clyde (Carol) Mercer, & David (Susan) Mercer

Sisters-in-Law: Margaret Badcock, Jean (Gade) Mugford & Livey (Dan) Fowler


And a large circle of family & friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade’s Funeral Home, serving Carbonear, Upper Island Cove, Bay Roberts and surrounding areas.     

Service Information:

The Funeral Service will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, June 19, 2017 from St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Shearstown.

Visitation Times:

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, L.T. STICK DRIVE, BAY ROBERTS, on Saturday: 11 A.M.–12 Noon, 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M., Sunday: 10:30 A.M.–12 Noon, 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. and Monday: 10:30 A.M.–12 Noon.


The family has requested that flowers not be bought into the building, due to a severe allergy.
