Major Edgerton Rutledge Peltier (Retired Salvation Army officer) passed peacefully away at Clarke's Beach on Sunday, April the 30th, with his wife by his side. He was born in Novar, Ontario on August 22nd, 1938. Predeceased by his parents; Edward and Elsie (Culyer) Peltier, and his in-laws Harvey and Maud (Short) Pitcher.
Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife Pansy (Pitcher)Peltier and his devoted daughter Sharon Peltier.

Brothers: Lanny Peltier, Ajax, Ontario, Brian Peltier, (Margaret) Fort Erie, Ontario Rene Peltier (Carol) Corbeil, Ontario; Aunt: Mona (Peltier) Listmayer Thunder Bay, Ontario
Brother-in- law: Bertram (Bernice) Pitcher;
Sister-in- law: Muriel (Pitcher) Smith (Phil) and
Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews and many Cousins.
Ed entered the Salvation Army College for Officers training in 1968 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in 1970. He has served in various appointments from Newfoundland to British Columbia. He retired in 1998 for health reasons.
He loved God supremely and his greatest desire was to help others reach their full potential. "In life, we cannot always do great things; but we can do small things with great love." Mother Teresa.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade’s Funeral Home, serving Carbonear, Upper Island Cove, Bay Roberts and surrounding areas.
The Memorial Service will be held 1 P.M. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Bay Roberts. Interment to follow on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1 P.M. from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road, St. John’s.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Salvation Army Citadel, Water Street, Bay Roberts on Saturday: 10 A.M. - 12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Kids Eat Smart Foundation, NL.
