Ivan Richard Westby, June 13, 1941-July 29, 2019
It is with great sadness we say farewell to Ivan Westby after a short bout with cancer, a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived and mourned by his wife: Janie (King); sister: Marie of Calgary, Alberta; children: Steven (Sherrill), Linda (Randy), Della, Shauna, and stepchildren (through Janie): Gerry and Tina. He was predeceased by his mother: Lulu (1960), father: Harold (1981); son: Terrance (1991), Lance (1995); stepdaughters: Dawn (2008) and Dale (2016). Ivan has 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law: Kay Butt and family and brother-in-law: Warrick (Ruby) King and family.
Ivan was born in Ardmore Alberta to Dora Frances Collins (Lumley), adopted by the Westby’s and raised in Okanagan, BC. He was a pipe fitter by trade and worked most of his career in the Alberta Oil Patch.
Ivan and Janie retired to Victoria Newfoundland in 2009.
Due to the love that he and Janie had, the family are going to have a common memorial in the future.
