It is with sadness and serenity that we announce the passing of Linda Gail (Allen) Snow at the age of 63, on April 14th, 2017 at home after losing her short battle with cancer. Sadness, for what she has meant to us as a loving wife, sister, in-law, cousin and friend. Serenity, for knowing that her pain on this earth has ended, and that she served the Lord by her many acts of generosity, compassion and mercy.
Born in Amherst, NS, Linda was the daughter of the late William Graham Allen and the late Jeanne (Cormier) Allen. She grew up in Cape Tormentine, NB. For several years Linda worked at K-Mart in Bathurst, NB. After writing often to her ‘Downhome’ pen pal, they met and moved to Coley’s Point, NL to be with James in 1995.
Linda integrated herself into the Snow family and created a large circle of friends in Coley’s Point and the local area. She was a member of the Anglican Church Women and enjoyed spending time attending local events, picking berries, sending greeting cards, visiting and talking with her friends, and meeting new ones. Linda loved sending greeting cards; we are sure the local card stores will miss her business.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John James Snow of Coley’s Point, NL, sister Diane (Patrick) Weber of Clinton, ON, brothers-in-law, Wilfred (Jean) Snow, Lewis (Nancy) Snow, Warren (Pat) Snow, sisters-in-law, Shirley Snow, whose husband Gerald is deceased, Liz Snow, whose husband Wilson is deceased, Jane Snow, whose husband Irving is deceased, other members of the Snow, Godin and Stothart families, and numerous friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade’s Funeral Home, serving Carbonear, Upper Island Cove, Bay Roberts and surrounding areas.
Her funeral will take place at St. John, the Evangelist Church in Coley’s Point on Tuesday, April 25th at 2:00 p.m., followed by a gathering at the church hall.
By her request, there will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. John, the Evangelist Church, the Salvation Army, Port de Grave Pentecostal Tabernacle or a charity of your choice.
Condolences may be written to the family in a comment below.
