Ms. Marcella Harrington, 90, passed peacefully away on the morning of April 19th, 2019 at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear.


Leaving to mourn her son Joseph and daughter-in-law Mary-Jo; Grandchildren: David Harrington and Megan Harrington; her sisters: Margaret Reid, St. John’s, Nora Collins and Elizabeth Hinks, both of Carbonear; her brother: Joe Harrington, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Mary Harrington, Carbonear, Eva Harrington and Bernadette Goulais Harrington and numerous nieces and nephews.


She is predeceased by her parents: Patrick & Annie (nee Tracey) Harrington; her sisters: Mary Paynter and Maureen Penney; her brothers: Jack, William, Patrick and Morris Harrington.


Marcella was born June 14, 1928 to Patrick and Annie (nee Tracey) Harrington of Carbonear. Marcella devoted her life to raising her son Joe. Family meant everything to her.


The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from St. Patrick’s R.C. Church & Cemetery, Carbonear


The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear on Tuesday: 2:30-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. and Wednesday: 9:15-10:15 A.M.


Flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in her loving memory to a charity of one’s choice.
